If you're the Incident Controller, you may want to ask the public for information during the Operations stage. You can do this in a variety of ways.
Choose the most appropriate way to ask the public for information
You may ask the public for information by using:
public broadcast band radio and other media outlets
private radio networks, for example, private radio networks operated by the Department of Conservation, councils (including park rangers), transport operators, recreational groups and organisations
public radio networks, for example, marine coastal radio VHF and HF networks operated by Maritime New Zealand, aviation networks operated by Airways, air traffic control at airports
social media that can be accessed by the New Zealand Police.
