Nationally Significant SAR Exercises

A search operation that has unusual features of scale, nature, intensity, or possible consequences may become a Nationally Significant SAR Operation.

The Rauora series of exercises were based on a mass rescue scenario involving the evacuation of thousands of passengers off a cruise ship. These exercises were run in each of the Police Districts.
